Edinburgh Film Festival To Host The Toxic Avenger Remake UK Premiere
Macon Blair’s gloriously outlandish cult classic remake The Toxic Avenger will be the closing night film of the Edinburgh Film Festival’s Midnight Madness strand.
The Toxic Avenger is a cult classic from the 1980’s. The original mutant mop-wielding hero that Troma Entertainment as a favourite to cult film fans the world over.
This film premiered at Fantastic Fest last year, to some great reviews. Many stating the film extremely gory, silly and fun element as it’s main highlight.
Signature Entertainment will distribute The Toxic Avenger in the UK and Ireland. Here’s the official synopsis…
When a downtrodden janitor, Winston Gooze (Peter Dinklage), is exposed to a catastrophic toxic accident, he’s transformed into a new kind of hero: The Toxic Avenger. Now, Toxie must rise from outcast to savior, taking on ruthless corporate overlords and corrupt forces who threaten his son, his friends, and his community. In a world where greed runs rampant… justice is best served radioactive.
This stars Macon Blair, this is co-written by original writer Joe Ritter with Lloyd Kaufman who produces with Michael Herz.

Signature Entertainment will release the film in cinemas across the UK and Ireland from 29th August.
